FALL HATS

For some reason I'm really feeling this hat a bit much. I feel like I could pull it off, especially with the fact that I'm going back to sow-ins for awhile now that I can't keep up with my wash and go's. This is at Forever 21 for $15 bucks roughly. It's cute to me.

Wear it with a cute short sleeve or quarter sleeve top maybe, like in the picture.  I live in Florida home of the humidity so this will help.  I feel like if your hair is bad, add whatever accessories you need to.  Make sure everything is on point! Take the attention off your hair and it will also look like your whole look including hair is on purpose ;).  I love how with Lauren and Audrina on the Hills can have their hair however way and it still looks hot.  It can be in a messy pony or bun and it looks wonderful.

KA$HIRO

I love her and her sister's hair.  I would visit her blog from time to time and I ran across her myspace.  Only certain people can pull off the big versatile look, though.

AUGUST

August is here! And I realized the whole month of July while co washing and detangling hair was always coming out.  There was a time where it wasn't, but then it started doing it again.  I honestly think its from co washing daily and wearing my wash & gos.. all... the... time.   That's coming to an ends so i'm in the process of looking for a hairstyle to wear for a week without washing to rotate with my Co washing week.  One week protective style, the next daily co washing with my wash and go.  Im gonna try rollersetting or something of that matter..... I don't want to straighten my hair until September, somewhat of a personal reason.  I want to surprise myself at the difference my hair will be next month as far as length.  It's been close to, I want to say, a year since I've REALLY had a trimmed.  Or gave myself one I should say.  I been faithful to keeping my ends up to par this far but the middle of my hair and front are taking a beating.  The rest are fine I guess.  I know it's because I been slacking on hiding them at night and keeping them moisturized or sealing with oil.

This transitioning stuff is NOT easy.  I honestly been thinking of relaxing my hair again.  Shoot me now but I really have been thinking about it.  I refuse to cause I know when I do i'll regret doing it. I'm just impatient maybe.. The last picture is a new style I came across. I call it the pinned up bob. I saw a youtube video of it done on a model with waist length hair. Her hair was layered with mad layers, the stylist rolled her long hair under her head and pinned it loosely and let her layers fall over it and it formed a inverted bob. The way my hair is layered it done the same thing even though it's only shoulder length. I tied a hair tie at the very bottom leaving my longer sides out automatically, then rolled the hair tie part up until it was fully under the rest of my hair and pinned it. An hour later my layers fell nicely. The picture taken below (the last one) was taken when I just done it. With the right accessories on and outfit I like the messy/choppy look.

ORGANIX COCONUT MILK CONDITIONER

Another bittersweet product.  When I first used it, I used it as a co-wash. Hated it for that week.  I gave it the benefit of the doubt and used it for that whole week.  It didn't leave my hair soft, not as soft as Suave Tropical Coconut left my hair for my wash & gos.  So I went ahead and used it as a deep conditioner mixed with Olive Oil.  Used it for the egg white thats in the ingredients as far as protein and works best for that purpose on my hair atleast.   I had to lightly wash with my Butter Treat after rinsing out the conditioner just for some slip.

PRODUCTS & TOOLS UPDATE

My new daily right hand... thing, is the Moist Spray.  I made it earlier today, yeah it may look like a bath & body works Amber Romance body spray but that orange/green stuff inside of it is EVOO, BioInfusion Leave In Conditioner and a little water.  Throughout the day (at work and school when I go to the bathroom mainly) or when I'm about to go out somewhere I spray it on the very front roots of my hair.  For some reason it's the hardest and driest spot in my hair compared to the very back of my hair. VERY smooth and moisturized and soft.  I spray this on my edges and front roots consistently throughout the day and it helps ALOT.  If it wasn't for this I'd be taking Noodlehead back to Sally's to return it but now that I like the effect Noodlehead does I use my moist spray for the moisture.

It's a good guaranteed sealant to me.

Shampoos:
Redken Smooth Down Shampoo
Neutrogena Replenishing Shampoo (clarifier)

Conditioners:
Suave Tropical Coconut Conditioner (mostly for co washing)
VO5 Strawberries and Cream (smell is just bearable co wash alternative)
Redken Smooth Down Cond.

Deep Conditioners:
Redken Smooth Down Butter Treat
Organix Cholesterol

Leave In Conditioners:
BioInfusion Leave In (daily)
Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Leave In (sometimes)

Misc:
Extra Virgin Olive Oil EVOO (now mixed with my conditioners)
Beyond the Zone: Noodlehead Curling Creme (just started using it)
Paul Mitchell Super Skinny
Garnier Fructis Anti-Frizz
CHI Silk Infusion Serum
CHI Iron Guard

And of course, my Jilby.  So much easier to detangle now.  Less strands are showing up on my fingers and comb or on the walls or shower curtain after opening my eyes.

BTZ: NOODLE HEAD CURLING CREME

READ THIS WHOLE REVIEW  I've read many many mixed reviews on this from HT, BHM and LHCF. I finally brought it today at sally's for $5 and change along with awhole bunch of stuff I stacked up on that I wanted to try and need which will be reviewed later next week after giving them more than once or two chances. I had to do the Noodle Head right away as far as a review and let me tell you, It was an emotional roller coaster for me. I was anxious to try it that I put it some on my wet hair. I let it air dry for like, two minutes HAH! I should've waited it out just a little more and then put it on. I did not like the feeling at all! Even in my hands it felt sticky and gooey right after squeezing the crap out of the tube.  Immediately I could tell it wasn't going to be good.  I had just got done doing a little sealing with EVOO after my daily leave-in and yaddi yadda and I couldn't feel the moisture anymore after putting this on. Just being real.  So I got fed up and took a break with my hair and did other things, as it air dried more I scrunched my curls/relaxed waves/curls if you want to call it that, up some more maybe half and hour to an hour later. My hair was feeling dry and dead, and I know if it was fully dried like that it would feel horrible.  To be honest this was the exact reason why I stopped using moose for my wash & go's before I educated myself on these websites. It was hard and crunchy. Not softness.  No flexibility.  So I went to my leave-in conditioner and put some more on throughout my head and the front of my hair where it's the only place thats drier and harder than the rest.  It got better and scrunched it up some more and out of nowhere, my hair just plopped out bouncy with more defined curls/waves. Lol. This is what I meant emotional roller coaster; I still got the big fully dried look but without the frizzes.  It still felt a little dry so that was when I made something I think will be my forever Moist Spray that will be close to my heart and in my purse everywhere.  I called it the Moist Spray soon as I tried it.  That's awhole-nother post to talk about.

BIOINFUSION LEAVE-IN

Right now this is my "it" leave-in.  I brought it at Walgreens on sale and was iffy about it since it was so cheap. On buzzillions I was shocked because for a con it said not organic but when I read the back it was organic enough for me.  Coming from nothing but chemical name brand products at least.  Some Henna, rosemary, hawaiian awapuhi, chamomile, aloe vera and jojoba. Now again, I'm new to transitioning and also natural/organic products or ingredients so some of this stuff I didn't even know but just that it's suppose to be good. So anyway, I never heard of hawaiian awapuhi so I googled it and found this:

"The clear juice of the Awapuhi (ginger) flower was highly prized by Hawaii's early Polynesian settlers for its ability to bring shine and softness to their hair."

I've been using this leave-in for the past two weeks, if that, and I like it. I only straightened my hair once while using this and I used the leave before drying my hair.  I still had the softness in my hair so it didn't do anything different negatively.  As far as my wash and go's I love it.  It's so light and the smell grew on me. Some of the leave-in's I used were thick and heavy but managed to the job only for wash and go's, but this leave-in is pretty versatile to me.

I now use this and the super skinny or some anti frizz for the shine and frizz control.  My somewhat curls are softer after my hair has fully dried.  I don't look like a rough six year old anymore at the end of the day when my hair is fully dried.

When my hair is straightened, at night I apply some lightly on my roots and edges and mainly focusing on my ends and do a baggy at night. And FRIGGIN WHOA in the morning. They feel like they did the first time I washed my hair in the week. Never getting too greasy or stiff and keeps it moisturized.

JULY UPDATE

I decided to do my updates the beginning of the months because my last perm was the beginning of June around this time. I'm starting a new job on Monday also and during orientation I have to get a picture ID, so I decided to do my update tonight since I'll be straightening my hair for Monday.

Since I'm out of shampoo and waiting on my mom to go out and buy some more, (yeah I freeload while I can, and?) I still decided to deep condition and such and work my around this not being able to wash. I searched my kitchen pantry to see if I can find something that I can use for my hair, atleast olive oil. I didn't find EVOO but I did find Extra Light Tasting Olive Oil. Now I googled this up first before I used it and it wasn't a big difference between EVOO so I tried it anyway. I WILL now be adding this to my weekly regime, which is near what I did tonight.

What I did tonight:
- Wet hair
- Massage/Detangle a little with fingers with ELTOO per section.
- Massage Conditioner over hair and detangle with wide tooth comb then rinse.
- Co-washed with conditioner. (For now on I will be rinsing with a shampoo bar or shampoo after doing a Co-Wash with ELTOO or EVOO. But for tonight I had to co-wash again, I don't think it got all of the olive oil out.)
- Deep conditioned with butter treat per section, used Mane & Chics Baggy Method while I sat under the dryer for 25 to 30 minutes. (Used the baggy method only because I can't stay still for anything and the cap would move constantly when I did.)
- Barely rinsed butter treat out, not all of it.

After air drying I went back to my regular straightening regime.
- A dime size amount of Chi Silk Infusion before blow drying/blowing out all over hair.
- Normally I'd use Chi's Iron Guard for both blow drying and flat ironing but I can't find it. So I skipped this.
- By section, smoothed Silk Infusion over hair, and flat ironed.

The first picture is while air drying where you can see my new growth. Second is during my blow out, third is after I flat ironed.
