From The Start
So here's the beginning stage. Mainly I want this blog so I can track my progress and I'm sure it'll be a great feeling down the road I can always look back at this relaxed her to what I'll have weeks, months, or years later. I don't know my hair type, I need to look that up more and look at my hair closely to determine that. You can also find these pictures and more coming on my Fotki. Sorry for the mess
Butter Treat
Redken's Smooth Down Butter Treat deep conditioner. I don't care if this isn't a organic product, I love it! I love Redken's whole line of Smooth Down products. A previous manager of mine who is caucasion with the typical white silky hair told me about it. I gave it the benefit of the doubt even though I figured, most of the products most people with silky hair use won't give me the same effect, I can't stop buy it after I tried it. The first two bottles went quickly after I got my mom using it too. We started buying the Shampoo and Conditioner. I read on LHCF that some natural's love it too.
But recently, while trying to figure out a new regime, I started smoothing down my roots, edges and my ends with some of this after wanting to give this a shot as a light leave in conditioner. LOVE the results. My few damaged ends aren't feeling crispy anymore, my roots and edges are soft and smooth and it even looks like it. AND I still have the weightless bounce and movement I always liked in my hair. I was always skeptical about different products because I hate having the greasy heavy feeling. A little pricy but I to me it's worth it. You can catch it on sale on Amazon for $11/$12 but in Ulta and Hair Cuttery (where I usually buy it) it's $16.

NATURAL EVA
Before I post further about products and my regime, I HAD to get this across. I just saw Eva on some flashback of ANTM on MTV, I guess she was one of the models invited to comment on certain parts or whatever, and her hair looked good. She had it in some nice wash and go style that was just perfected. I couldn't find a good picture of it but I did find these beautiful pictures of her with her hair from last year. She WILL be added to my inspiration list, early.

LET'S END THIS WITH A START!
Hair hair hair, even though it's just hair and it'll grow back it's very important to me. I feel I did good job keeping up with my hair especially after a big breakage after a year of coloring in 2006. Relaxed, my hair is still thick and rich, bouncy all that good stuff but I keep damaging it because of relaxers. I'll always huff and puff when there's times when I see long strands falling instead of just crisp, burnt ends. I also have jet black dye which I'm going to stop retouching with, probably up until the end of the year to see how my transition is coming along. After the black dye my hair seems shinier and healthier and with my current regime it's just more healthier than how I had it while I was doing the several blonde shaded highlights consistently for a year. You can see past pictures and pictures I started out with this month on my Fotki.
I developed, I would say, 70% of my inspiration from online. From browsing fotki, LHCF, HealthyTextures, and more importantly, Mane & Chic. I will be trying out alot of her daily routines and products she has posted and leaving results on here. Before a friend from a message board irrelevant from hair had showed me the link to her blog site, I was very skeptical about going natural. I refused.....to do...... the BIG CHOP. I have some insecurities with my face and head shape and I just don't like short hair on me unless it's straight. And I don't plan on straightening my hair everyday. Right now I do alot of wash and go's and straightening and my lenght now is like the shortest I'd rather do for a wash and go, so doing a BC is out of my options. I came across M&C and she expressed how she's transitioning and doesn't plan to BC until a she reaches a desired goal in lenght. THAT let me know it was possible, as long as I'm disciplined with my regime's, I'll do the same.
Both me and another friend will be giving our transitioning progress, product reviews, and other helpful and/or interesting posts. Give us some time to get settled in here, and to start posting our regime and products because I would love to hear some support & feedback about everything. So for now, signing out.
